Community Facilitation: Affirming Black Families November

Affirming Black Families is a *new* parent education and capacity building program for Black parents and caregivers of LGBTQ youth. The series will feature a monthly virtual workshop to equip Black parents with the community, knowledge and resources to build safe, loving, affirming and celebratory homes for Black queer and trans youth in Baltimore City.

Who should attend? Any adult parent, caregiver or family member interested in receiving support and resources while they do the work to love, affirm and celebrate their LGBTQ kid!

What to expect? A friendly, low-key virtual gathering to share ideas, stories, strategies and strength. Each month will focus on a different topic.

We know you have questions. We welcome your curiosity. We expect your kindness!

November's meeting is all about family gatherings. Holidays are filled with opportunities for family to gather and love on each other, and they are also opportunities for your youth to experience isolation and anxiety. This month, we get resources and capacity building to support our youth during the holiday season. Bring your best meal memories!
